I think about it every day. Although with the boy growing up it doesn’t have the same draw that used to.

I do feel useless at times by not fighting and giving all

A good good friend of mine, about the closest I have to an older brother was in the shite.
And when we get in our cups, just us, sometimes the stories come up.

And man, I cherish them. Because if they aren’t told then they never happened, essentially.

Think about it. All the Wars ever fought, all the dying and the dead and the experiences, that wealth of human turmoil, lost but for the tales that were captured, and writ.

All that we know we only know because someone took the time to steal the stories from around the campfire and pass them down, so that men who still have life could share the tales of those who cruel death has claimed and make them live once more.

Those that are dead still exist as long as their tales are told. Their names spoken. Their deeds kept on the tongues of breathing men.

You aren’t starving. You haven’t seen starving. You aren’t even hungry. When this cold snap happened, and I had nothing else to do, I took the opportunity to hunker down in a makeshift shelter. Felt the cold and tried to escape it. Felt the chill in my bones and soaked up a tiny fraction of what my precursors felt, huddled in frozen, muddy trenches in Europe. With death and gas and earth all around them. Dirty and disheveled and discombobulated from the hell of war. We live in the halcyon days now.

Reading this has made me even hungrier. I wish there was a buffet open. Halcyon days my arse.

As it will. Our sons are our legacies. Our seeds that grow into trees and spread seeds of their own, and make forests of our line.

And so many forests need felling.

Every food joint is a buffet if you spend enough.

Walmart is open. Go buy some food and cook.

I love Monty Python but not sure what you’re referring to.
This is all just me, off the cuff.

When you go into a monologue I always read them as if it were from a character in monty pythons holy grail.

I do go into monologues quite a bit in my cups.

It’s either rapier wit or a wending walk of words.

Give me something to ramble on

I just raided the fridge. Mrs Scoob had a lunch meeting at a sushi place. The crunchy roll was good but frick whoever decided to ruin fresh fish by wrapping it in cucumber.

Gross, but open and has vittles.

I’m just saying that if I felt like it I could go there and acquire the necessary ingredients to prepare a delicious spread

I love cucumber.

Had some in my garden this year and they grew huge...but I only got maybe 5.

Have to rethink the planting this year.
Less plants and more room for the productive ones.
