I think they should build another series of traffic circles to befuddle those who live in this backwater province, but this one should have sci-fi elements that include an eternal circle into the bowels of hell. Either that or something completely different.

I didn't know exactly how long the learning curve would be for Livingston. But I knew I didn't think it would be this long.
I mean the LSU campus figured it out after a couple of days. It's been years and Livingston is still struggling.

There's a market for a large lot subdivision where the homes don't have to be estate homes.
These builders promise that and then change it to the current model. Need better contracts

There hasn't been a large lot sub-division built in 20 years. All small lots stacked on each other that end up looking like trailer parks.
Large lot subdivisions means less impermeable surface area per square mile and fewer bedrooms per square mile. That means less runoff during heavy rain and fewer cars on the road.
Livingston should absolutely be allowing large lot subdivisions with 1 acre lot minimums. They can absorb the additional demands those developments place on infrastructure. In fact it's completely reasonable to restrict entire swaths of the parish to that maximum density and lot size.
The problem is that they've been letting high density, narrow lot subdivisions where driveways and houses cover a huge proportion of the available land. There's less room for runoff and more demand for road capacity, fire, police, and schools per square mile.

If people are stupid enough to buy there then they deserve what they get.

I’ll never understand how anyone can enjoy living like this. For the same price as one of these homes you can move 30 miles out of town, have at least an acre of land and a nice house.
