Is it a diesel? What do you think is the worst maintenance on it? Electronic stuff? Engine?

I know cost of ownership is high. Seasonal maintenance is $700 a couple of times a year.

It's just that something is always broken on them. The power converter burned up, corner molding keeps falling off, leveling jacks keep f-ing up, dash a/c goes out, oh great, now the exterior trim is falling off, the awning is tearing away from the wall, bad carburetor on generator, control board on frig went out... I can go on an on...

Ginger, do you guys travel alot or stay in one place long term?

We are spending the summer season in one place, Once fall hits we will likely go to Mobile because my bf has a high paying job there that will last weeks. His per diem will more than pay for us to stay at a resort type rv place near the beach,

We plan on going to the Florida Keys once they are up and running again,

He is looking to retire early sometime in the next year and then we will do a lot more traveling. We plans to go to Alaska, to the Arkansas Diammond Mines, Colorado and whatever else appeals to us,

My grandfather did. Visited 48 out of 50 states. Seemed happy before dementia sidelined him. If you want to do it, do it. Enjoy life

living the RV life full time
I understand some folks love it, good for them.

The RV Life holds no attraction for me.

Luckily Mrs. Füt (no pics) has similar thoughts for herself.

To the OP, I've heard of married couples who retire and do the full-time RVing thing and one of the couple doesn't care for it.

That would be my worry.

Good luck-

have an odd ball employee who is single and lives in an RV park in an RV (not trailer). Its quite pathetic and he's referred to as McDreamy (ala Greys Anatomy due to RV living).

That said, its different from your situation.

Sounds like a good option to escape hurricanes or bad winters.

I lived in one for 2 years when I got pcs'd and didn't want to uproot family. Hope you are handy, something is always breaking. I had a high end 5th wheel (king of the road) and still something always needed fixing.

Good Lord! What kind does she have? We bought a preowned Fleetwood 3 years ago and have been full time with no issues.

Most of the RV folk by me steal bikes or cook meth for a living. Not ideal neighbors.
