Went to NSU and loved Natchitoches. With I-49,driving down to visit family will be a breeze. You should love living there. I would have stayed if I could have found a decent job in the area.

Who knew there was so much Natchitoches love on here?

I never see threads about (insert Louisiana town/city) go well.

Not a lot of nightlife but you can spend that money on a nice boat and all is well.

I got approached about a job at NSU. It pays well and would be a huge advancement in my career.

This. It's temporary.

Yeah at 4 y/o the kid isn't going to remember Joseph from Adam next year.

You motherfrickers are comical. Pimping Natchitoches and shite talking Alexandria.

There are some positives about Natchitoches and I could live there for a little while no problem. I love Cane River and theres a lot of history there, but to say that its much better then Alex is just fricking stupid. I love these "better places in La" discussions. It's like asking which bite of the shite sandwich is the best.

Natchitoches is a nice town, but it's pretty isolated.

Don’t even deny that you aren’t a Texan. That is where you live.

If you know of Natchez Community, you may have spent some time in Natchitoches Parish.

Did you hear, there was a fire at JJ's.

Yup. JJs burnt down. OP may need to factor that into his decision.

I love Lafayette, but I did see the most stereotypical Lafayette thing Saturday at Rêve when a guy walked in with affliction jeans. The ones with the weird cross logos on the back pockets.

Another reason why I left that place and never looked back.

One of the reasons you left Lafayette is douchebag guys who wear affliction? You really care that much about people around you?

News flash, you’re gonna find annoying people everywhere you go. If you can’t be happy in Lafayette you won’t be happy in many places.

Maybe that is what makes it a nice place.

The Bentley Hotel is literally the classiest hotel outside of NOLA in the state. I’d put its lobby right up there with the Monteleone and Roosevel

Generals Eisenhower, Patton, MacArthur and Bradley agree with you.

The Bentley is a beautiful old building but the hotel itself is pretty sad.

Nephew and family live there, they love it. Kistache and Toledo Bend is nearby if you enjoy outdoor stuff

Don’t think I’ll suddenly be a Louisianan the second I move there.

No - I left long before affliction was a thing. I just didn’t like the place. It may be great for a lot of people but it wasn’t right for me.
And things have worked out well enough.
