As law enforcement, it is absolutely maddening to see this murder suspect literally coming to a complete stop at intersections and the police in pursuit also stopping 100 yards back and waiting

I will never understand the preference for the "potentially armed and dangerous" criminal to come to a nice, gentle stop where they can DEFINITELY get out and open fire, vs. using a 3 ton armored cruiser with a brush guard to ram them and incapacitate them and their vehicle.
They've had plenty of slow speed opportunities without public nearby, why wait?! It makes no logical sense.
If you think the suspect is armed and dangerous, use one of the giant multi-ton vehicles in slow pursuit and end it where you have the possibility to trap them in their vehicle or incapacitate them. Instead they're letting the murderer dictate where and when this potential standoff occurs
