I noticed it the last time I was in Louisiana. Worst in the country has to be Newark along their freeway. Looks like a landfill.

It really blew me away when I moved down here how much trash was literally all along the roads. It really could be such a beautiful state but for the reason stated above its not. I hate becoming desensitized by it also. I just came back from Colorado (Denver area) and was simply amazed by the lack of litter and abundant cleanliness of the state. I really wonder if it is the lack of education that causes it, and if it also correlates with the driving skills in this state. Uneducated poors doing uneducated dumb things. /rant

I can't believe how many people in Louisiana leave their trash in the middle of parking lots.
Carts right in the middle of parking spots, too, when the corral for them is ten feet away. That doesn't happen other places.

While you're sitting at the traffic light, look around on the ground. There are literally hundreds of cigarette butts all over the ground. Cigarette smokers are the worst.

We are talking about the same people who put their trash in shopping baskets or on the pavement in parking lots. Buggy racks 10 feet away and they just leave them. But let's not put these people in any certain class.

We live in the Sportsman's Paradise and we trash it up so bad. I don't understand it. I am not some liberal hater, either.
It really bothers me that fines for littering go to the State Troopers' Retirement Fund instead of to fund cleaning up this place.
