TV stays on BET.

Netflix is limited to DVD program only.

Toilet paper is single ply.

No vacation days or even sick leave.

Sucks

My wife has a first cousin there now that is doing time for drugs. We can't get the proper information on him and don't know when he's getting out. His mama says he is doing a short stint, but I call bullshite. You don't go to Angola for a short stint.

They produce enough veggies to feed everyone involved about 6-7 lbs. per day. Any extra is sold. They raise a lot of beef too but I don't think the prisoners get a lot of that.

Were you an FFA guy in High school? If so, way to plan ahead.

I did time from 93-99. Out on probation. Got in a scuffle leaving a bar with a dude who tried to mug me and gf. Killed him with my hands. I had a bad lawyer. And the gainz are legit.

Yes....life w/o parole, and yes it sucks. He escaped, was caught with a guard's gun, was brought back and put in solitary for the last 11 years. 1000% worse than before. He is literally going insane.

I know someone that's been in for 15yrs on a 44 to life sentence. The first few years sounded like pure hell but you adjust with the rest of the animals so hell becomes the normalcy.

Yes they do. When I worked at Tiger Shipyard one of the work release welders had done a 2 year sentence at Angola.

They actually get a good bit of it. Most of the state prisons are somewhat self supporting and Angola itself supplies a lot of the stuff the other prisons use.

Yes they do and it's not a bad nine holer. Also the clubhouse has a two dollar burger that is as good as any burger around.

I've worked in that prison off and on for almost forty years. It's a wild place but not once have I ever felt endangered. Had a load of lumber show up one day and our guard said "better get that lumber onto the site or it will be rocking chairs tomorrow. " my people didn't move it that day and by morning about five grand of lumber was gone. I ate that.

This is a fact. When I have to work there, I plan my schedule around the 2 hours the clubhouse is open for lunch. I've done work in there at least twice a week for the past 15 years. I'd bet we've been there at the same time.

When it's hot, it hotter there. When it's cold, it's colder there.
