You can encourage her into some unhealthy habits and play the waiting game.

I mean, you’re either going to stay put or not. It’s not unreasonable to want to relocate to a more desirable location, but something’s got to give.

Why wouldn't you just buy a vacation home and do that a few times throughout the year?

I’m considering doing this now to be honest. Might even semi-retire this year before I hit 45. Watching my childhood hero systematically annihilated by mankind’s most vicious super predator ten years ahead of schedule has made me question what I am doing.

Highly recommend. Did this four years ago and have a happy wife and happy life. Worth every dollar.

Absolutely. I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

I've had a dream from my youngest years to live on the Gulf, a little condo

If you talking Gilf of Mexico.... I'd stop right there. Unless you love high insurance for hurricanes and rebuilding every now and then, I'd just live someplace you can deal with and roll out to a VRBO or AIR B&B to help scratch that gulf life itch.

Downsize your current home
Buy a small vacation home in Florida
Go on vacation whenever you want, solo or with spouse
Problem solved

Mid life crisis.

It will pass. Don't do anything stupid until it does.

When my oldest 3 kids were 2 years old and new born twins, a guy told me to ditch my family before the kids could remember me and move to SE Asia and settle down with a local.

He has 2 adult children and ex wife in California that he hasn’t seen or had contact with in almost 30 years.

Seemed content with his “choice” in life but was a very hostile/aggressive person.

Nothing like the peace of being home even after 40 years. Sometimes your wife, ie basically nothing but your business partner in marriage and parenting, just wants to be elsewhere. Ask God to send you where he wants you and patiently wait. The answer will become apparent over time.
