I admit, it's been a long time since I have deposited cash in an ATM, but don't you put it in an envelope before you put it in the machine? If so, how would the machine be able to tell if it is counterfeit? If not, how would the bank be able to tell which bills you deposited?

If I were the OP I'd delete this thread so I could claim ignorance. As of now, you've admitted to depositing money that you know may have been counterfeit.
