There are some things where moderation doesn't help you out a whole lot. And I think porn is one of those things, but since the effects aren't extremely obvious, nobody wants to acknowledge them.
yep. there are so many reasons to quit completely and zero good reasons to keep doing it. none. you realize once you've been away from it that the enjoyment factor is a farce.
i'm not being preachy here. just trying to impart the feeling of freedom I've experienced in my own life. I first saw/read porn nearly 35 years ago as a young kid. it's been a force in my life to varying degrees and in different ways, ever since.
I was never some "porn freak." But that justification is an insidious trap in itself. There is always someone more f'ed up than you, but that doesn't mean what you're doing is healthy.
I'm glad this keeps coming up on here. I'm also glad the anti-porn movement has expanded into all walks of life, from left to right politically and in both religious and non-religious circles.

It all boils down to what a healthy sexual relationship looks like.
Porn has no place in a healthy sexual relationship.
Porn has no place in a healthy sexual relationship.

I went thru a pretty big drought a couple of years ago. In the meantime I was getting my fix thru porn damn near daily. The next couple of times I did try to hook up with a girl it was hard to maintain an erection and it seemed like more work than pleasure. Really freaked me out. I quit watching porn/fapping for a month and sex became great again. It's weird how much it screws the brain up, but it does.

I wouldn't say its a "serious" problem if a guy faps a couple times a week, but my wife definitely notices the difference, so I try to time it during periods when she/I are busy at night and likely not going to have sex

The public usually isn't the best place for porn disussions.

Sounds normal enough. Probably just another one of the guys, nothing to worry about.

That's probably a red flag too... Three lines too many bud.
Good luck with all that though, think you're over thinking things.

I've been trying since the new year started to make it one full week without porn. I haven't made it yet. Got up to 6 days once. Was up to 4 days until yesterday.

start working out instead...when you get the urge to check out pron, start doing push ups and shite...get a new obsession, one that is better for you...take a walk, work on your truck, find something in the house that needs fixing, or here is a thought...if you are single, go meet some women...or if you have a wife, go frick her...

I've had similar results in the past. I wouldn't argue against someone who says I'm addicted, even though I'm a 2-3 times a week guy.

There are 100's of articles on this. It boils down to jerking it constantly. You decrease your testosterone levels when you bust. They go back up, but take a day or 2, depending on how must busting your doing. If you're jerkin daily/a couple times a day, you're not letting your testosterone get back to it's proper level. So you run out of energy quickly or become lazy. You gain weight. Your pecker stays scrunched and doesn't hang like it should. Some people lose confidence or don't care about the events in their life. Porn's contribution to all that is a skewed view of women and a decrease in social skills/presence.

Is that all it takes? Just Alpha up and tell her to get in the bed? can't wait till we get home from work. I let the OT know how that works out.

No. It tells them your a man full of testosterone.
Increased ejaculations causes a release of estrogen in the body. It let's women know you're getting it from somewhere, so they should move on to the next male.
It's pheromones man. Science.
Actually, I now believe this is true. I bought a bottle of pheromones made in a lab with chemicals online that you mix with cologne. I thought this was just stupid and crazy even thought there are studies that support it. I decided to test it out at work before I use it at clubs and on dates. Yep, that shite works. Had basically every female at work star gazing at me and sending new signs of wanting me. Even the women who think I am a egotistical arse hole were now flirting with me. I never would have believed it.
Stop wacking it to porn. Keep your testosterone. The pheromones will help you score with more women than you would believe.

OK, then I agree. If that was my normal I'd never whack
The problem is that you can't put all dudes in the same boat. Sexual drives vary wildly and I doubt there are any metrics that can be used to describe a normal sex drive. Maybe they can be used to describe something abnormal but what is enough sex for one person may not be enough for another.
Here 'a where I'd say you may have a problem if you are getting it on the reg: if you use porn to jerk it more than you use your memories of the sex you ARE having then you may have a problem. Now this is just for dudes that have a regular partner.

Porn definitely has some very adverse effects that most men won't admit due to their own pride. It can destroy marriages, too. I admire you for being willing to talk about it.
And don't forget the lives it corrupts/ruins within the business itself.
