I'd hate to see your definition of cold.

I live in Whitefish and absolutely love it.

You, sir, are living the American Dream. I applied for a position in Whitefish but it did not go my way. Granted I'm not a fluvial geomorphologist, so I was not shocked it didn't go my way.

One day I'll be out that way. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I've spent a ton of time in Billings, in the past 3 years, working at the CHS refinery. Great city, food is ok and the women are pretty but really thick from the waist down. A guy from BR owns 2 restaurants there that are pretty good, Rio Sabinas and The Chop House. I recommend going to Red Lodge which about an hour south of Billings. The city looks like something you would see on a postcard and you can drive through Beartooth Mountains which is a great drive. You're about 3 hrs from Yellowstone park so you can easily make a weekend trip out there and do some camping. I got a little adventurous and drove 6 hrs East to go visit Mt. Rushmore and Sturgis. Oh and if you like to gamble they have a ton of small casino type things everywhere.

I'm in the early stages of planning to uproot and go to Bozeman. Checking out some other areas but best bet for employment is there.

I'm against unions but reading the bargaining agreement Bozeman Pd has it is light years ahead of what I'm getting. Really want to get out of that field but with 16 years in it's hard to. Hopefully that can get me up there and maybe I'll find something else later.

At some point I'll just have to accept this is what I'll do but damn it why not do it somewhere with great scenery. I was there a few years ago and the antelope and deer I saw between Bozeman and Livingston had me drooling

you would be ... just go ... even if you don't like it (which you legitimately may not), you'll like the experience of the West for the year or two ... it's fabulous out there, even if you don't want to live there ...

don't even think twice about it ...

They have grassland for miles. Good people. All the same chain rest. as anywhere else and some good local food. Ask the locals to find the hidden diamonds for food.

Good people. Down to earth. A lot of people are moving close to there because of oil and shale oil. Any house you buy should appreciate with the rising demand.

Plan to buy winter gear up there. Whatever you buy in the south is made for the south. Boots, coats, etc. are all made for colder weather up there.

I have a friend that lives there who plays drums. He plays live music and works enough to pay for his house and his bills, plus a classic Mustang. There are many genres of live music available.

There are also a bunch of big parks. Learn to shoot and buy an ATV.
