No doubt they'll do this. Taxi companies do it.

Its based on demand so it will definitely go up.
If less people are demanding Ubers or there are more added to the fleet for the day, the price goes down.
Very basic economics that automatically reacts to supply and demand.

This is fantastic. I think I could dump one of our cars and save a ton of money.

If people are smart that aren't football fans in BR, they will become Uber drivers and just work on gamedays.
You make your own hours with the service.

LSU coach Les Miles is going to be the service's first rider in Baton Rouge.
Odds he tells the driver to take him somewhere he can get Twizzlers? I'm thinking pretty good.

I wonder how long they'll stick with it after the first drunk pukes in their private car.

Stick with riders with good ratings. You can see pictures. I know everyone is drunk out there, but you can lower your chances of having a vomit drunk by going after soccer mom looking passengers.

As long as people are willing to pay. If it gets too expensive and prices out the demand, the price goes down.
Capitalism at its finest.

It's online. Told me one was 5 minutes away just now.

According to WAFB, Uber competitor Lyft has also submitted a license application to the city/parish.

It's definitely less, but they do charge a premium for peak demand times.
When they don't tack on the multipliers, the uber from my apt to the airport was only $34, but when I used cabs, it cost me at least $60. Not to mention that cabbies hate the biggest bitches when you try paying with credit cards.
Uber and lyft >>>>> cabs

I can't even remember how many times I've gotten into it with cabbies over this. It always seems to be broken until you tell them you don't have cash. Then they bitch and complain.
But that has usually been around New Orleans, BR and other smaller cities. Vegas cabs are pretty good but that is expected.

Both are great. I use whichever is closest to my house at the time I check. Nearly identical apps and services.
