Is the skating rink staying open?

Nope, he's selling the whole property.

What business would want to locate there? I've seen hookers working on Harry Drive right around the corner.

Local beer distributor just built a new facility right around the corner. Area will always be an industrial area IMO.

If you turn left off of N Foster to North Street, it was ,about a block on the left before you get to the grave yard on the right. It was a reddish orangish building. I want to say it’s still standing, but not sure.

It’s still there but pretty worn down. The old gravel parking lot is solid weeds now. I looked at it the other day since half of Roselawn is my family I’m in that area frequently.

Had my early birthday parties there and Fun Fair Park in alternating years. They had the same refreshments - the little square piece of cake and the cardboard individual containers of Borden’s ice cream with the wooden spoon. My mother always brought a cake from Baum’s. When the new one opened and the ice rink to we went every Friday night. Used to go watch bands play in that building next door where they used to have wrestling. Can’t remember the name of it.

Fun fair park was awesome!
Man I could still ride on the rollercoaster all day long.

The Leo’s played the disco music and man I could make it happen on those skates. That was the place back in the day to show off those groovy moves.

It is a shame it is just the area gone from one of the most happening areas of BR to the decay of NBR!

How does a business last for 70 years in this town and then close? Every time we go it's packed. My kids are sad.

Location. Think about how popular Cortana was until the welfare state took over. It was only a matter of time. Fwiw, my mom's car was stolen at Leo's when I was a little kid.

"Come on and getcha co-drink" were the greatest words you could hear when it came time for scooter races.

I can remember going to the old one on North St, with the wood floor rink and the ancient skates they'd give you.

That was Leo's Roller Rink, de rigeur for grade school birthday parties.

Man no way Egyptian Lover is awesome!

One less place to play Egyptian Lover jams. :(

One of the coolest and greatest songs ever for a skating rink!
