Weed revenue will surpass nfl revenue by 2020

I think it would pass easily in Louisiana if it got on the ballot. We are actually the first of the southern states to put a medical marijuana program into law, even if it is highly restricted and currently has no real teeth to it.

It was really damn close in Arkansas a few years ago. like 48 to 52%.
If anything I'd think we were more arse backwards than Lou when it comes to dry counties and hardcore baptists. Maybe I'm wrong?

It would make a lot of "criminals" no longer "criminals", so I'm guessing it would lower crime.

Doesn't it require a super majority though?

Well, northern Louisiana is practically the same as Arkansas, but the New Orleans area is much more progressive.

Just another update in the "How Stupid Is Louisiana" saga.
We will be the 49th or 50th state to legalize, unless it is done federally. The Prison Industrial Complex and Police Unions, and North Louisiana Lawmakers will never let it happen here.
Same here in Alabama. I don't see it happening in my lifetime. I've not smoked pot for decades but were it legalized here that would probably change. But like I said, I don't see that happening.
As for Federal legalization, it's possible but I think still unlikely anytime soon.

In Florida the medical marijuana initiative on the ballot this year will require one. I'm not sure about Louisiana.
I looked it up - Louisiana is not a super majority state, so a simple majority would suffice.

Here's the 400lb gorilla in the room that nobody is talking about though. Weed is still federally illegal. The only thing stopping the Feds from moving in on operations in Colorado and Washington is they don't have any interest in doing so at this time. That could change in the very near future.
The real long term solution to this issue is changing federal, not just state, law.

Would be a good way to piss off everyone in that state and give small government people tons of ammo.
that president would get absolutely roasted

It's also legal in the actual nation's capital of Washington DC. The rest of the country should enjoy the same freedom based on that alone.

True. I doubt we see this happen anytime soon though. I think at the very least the Feds should do away with the Federal weed laws and tell the states it's up to them. Let the people vote on a state by state basis on keeping it illegal or legal.

No, the thing that's stopping this from occurring is a brain. Anyone who backed that movement would be committing political suicide.

Nah....before legalization the people in CO, WA, and OR weren't smoking their product.
Unless they were lacing their weed with coke.

Not necessarily. There's still a lot of people out there opposed to legalized weed. All it will take is an AG who "stands for law and order" and wants to "get tough on crime".

A considerable drop.
