I don’t know if this was mentioned but don’t volunteer for anything, especially chow runner.

Hindsight being 20-20 you tell others that you’re traveling with, who will most likely be in your flight, how awesome being flight leader or chow runner is.
ETA You do want KP when it’s offered, it’ll be the only time you eat well.

This is generally true but volunteering for KP always worked out for me other than the time I got pots and pans.
But never accept special treatment. We had a guy score above 300 on the first PT test and the drills announced it in the chow hall and offered him an ice cream. After he accepted and finished it they brought him another and strongly suggested he eat it. This went on until he'd had ten or fifteen and vomited into his tray. Guy was hating life the rest of the day.

Wow Baw! Welcome to the Air force Family. I mean that is if you survive the brutal 6 weeks of basic
Be prepared to be accidentally bumped a few times in basic. That's what they called it when i was in. I actually went thru basic in San Antonio about the same time as you and it is hot as hell out there. I did accounting(chair force) for almost 5 years and was stationed with a bunch of hotties for a few years. It was rough
Drove past those Army Dudes Running every morning, in Alaska freezing temps, on my way to work at 8am
Good luck young man you wont regret your decision.

Have fun at the resort. And congrats on joining the easiest and least respected of all branches. Even the Coast Guard laughs at you.
I might be mistaken, but last I was aware one could join the Army and become a Ranger (not just qualified) in 30 weeks
To become an Air Force CCT (combat controller) takes just shy of two years
I doubt any of those guys would agree with your simplistic assessment there grunt. ;)-

That would be more comparable to SF, not the Rangers.
