Learning The Different Bets In Craps

When it comes to craps, I know the basics.
You bet the pass line.
If a 7 or 11 is rolled, you win.
If a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled the house wins.
If a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 is rolled then the dice are continued to be rolled and if the initial number is rolled you win, if a 7 is rolled the house wins.. If you bet the pass line that gives you the best odds the casino has to offer, the house only has a 1.41% better chance of winning..
The other bets are more risky, but pay out more, but I don't have a clue as what anything else means beyond betting the pass line. Let me start with the section that has Seven and 4-1 on each side.
It has 9-1 the dice showing a pair of threes Hard Way then dice showing a pair of fours. Then 7-1 pair of 2s Hard Way then a pair of fives, 30-1 snake eyes One pair of sixes, then 15-1 dice showing one and three Bet then dice showing six and 5 and at the bottom it says Any Craps 7-1.
What are these bets?

as the chances of those dice showing up decrease, the payout increases.
Betting before the dice come up 7 for the house..At least thats what I always thought.

Okay, but how does the chances of those ice decrease? Shouldn't all possible combinations have an equal chance of showing up during each roll?

Not true. If you bet the don't pass line you are betting with the house, but everyone will hate you.

Pass line and odds bet. All the prop bets on the craps table have crummy odds. Your odds bet at the craps table the only bet in the casino that pays out true odds.

This pretty much sums it up.
The only way I would bet anything beyond the pass line is if I am up by a pretty good amount and I am about to cash out.. Then maybe I pull some "house money" on one of the other bets, but you either bet one of them one time, win and cash out.. Or bet them, win and continuing playing and eventually you will lose money.

Don't worry about anything but pass line and playing the numbers, specifically 6 and 8. Outside of don't pass, they are statistically the best odds in the game. Fairly certain "Any 7' at 4:1 odds is the worst. Hard ways a little behind the numbers with inside being the best. Hard 6 and 8 are slightly better than 4 and 10.
Very aggressive players play the Come line to get the odds better. The field is also much lower than hitting the numbers. Big 6 and 8 are pointless.
ETA: The better tables will have much higher odds behind the pass line. If they only allow 3,4,5X then that sucks. Sadly, most places only do up to 5X.

This was going to be my next question.

Me too. Find the old Asian guy and make the same bets as him.

No. The bar 12 on the come out roll makes it an equalizer. The "don't" players are still betting against the house. All players shoud know how to bet both sides of the line. The more sophisticated players understand this; just do not celebrate when a shooter sevens out.

Everyone can suck my taint. I'm not there to make friends.

There are many gaming books out there and many of them will explain the bets for craps. Most of them will best be served as a doorstop at the fishing camp. One that I can recommend is Craps by the Numbers by Alfred DiMaruo.

Spend a few years learning the games of NL holdem and pot limit Omaha. You can build a successful career and become a winner player long term if you have what it takes, which isn’t everyone.
If you are hell bent on playing a negative expected value game such as craps then bet only the pass or don’t pass and completely ignore the other bets... they are loaded with house edge, some spots double digit house edge

CBarkleyTruth provided you with a very good suggestion. The larger that the bet is displayed on the layout the better it is for the house and not for you. Keep this in mind with your next visit to the casino. For example, true odds requires a point number to be established after you have placed a pass line or a don't pass line bet. There is no place for us to place the extra money to take or lay odds. The dealer or other player will show you.
