Lafayette hasn't had sustained winds over 21 mph

Baton Rouge actually beats that at 23 mph

The wind field on this thing is really compact and strong. It'll broaden out as it weakens.

Can’t sleep. Which feed should I be watching?

And to which saints are we offering our prayers right now? Sickening storm.

Buddy had to stay to do city stuff and is on the fourth floor of chase. Said it looked like three raccoons looking at him from over there with the headlights from the chasers pointed at him

These guys bitching back and forth,
"WE gotta find a big shot before somebody else does"
That's not too dramatic, the gas station is ruined but it' was under construction anyway.
"He wants video of a power pole down"

When it was hitting, Brettsaid the gauge was dropping. While they were in the eye and driving around, he said it was spiking. I don’t know enough to know if LC is out of the woods with storm surge.

Lower than expected. It was a fast moving storm with a compact wind field.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I remember for Katrina everyone woke up the next day and said

Oh it wasn’t as bad as we thought

then the levees started going. So I don’t think they are out of the woods yet.

Ugh. That dramatic BS is annoying. Though, I guess we’re all watching because they are showing things.

I don't think that is fire. Just an emergency light and the broken windows and windshield wiper is making it look like the light is dancing.

It hasn't moved or gotten bigger in the last 20 minutes.

You may need to change which radar you’re using. It’s still very circular and “normal” looking.
