It wasn't east of the eye so that makes sense.

On radar the eye is over the entirety of the 210 loop and they’re in the middle in downtown.
The radar is showing the eye from Iowa to the state line. Thats probably inaccurate.

So, aside from the flying windows the Nugget is better than L’auberge for riding out a storm? Cantore got hosed.

Maybe the rapid strengthening didn’t give it enough time to pull in as much ch water as they thought.

Surge getting close to Ike numbers at the pass - keep in mind this is from an hour ago while still in the eye:
When should the surge peak??

Radar in LC is down, the one being shown nationwide is from Houston - so it's distorted by about 20 miles to the east. They're actually going down the side of the eye wall now.

I don’t know who made the “Lucky they aren’t in Nola” comment, but I just laughed my arse off at that one

Sounds like the back side/SW wind might push all that water into LC.
That will be nut cutting time for sure. Just keep your eye on the gauge at the pass. If it goes past 15', watch out LC...

They’re roughly in the middle of the C in Charles here:

This is what I'm trying to wrap my mind around right now. The eye is basically Vinton-Iowa, thats huge. But TWC shows LC still getting pounded

Possible good news or at least better than expected news on the surge - at least in Cameron.
The Calcasieu Pass water level reached 11.07 feet, but that was only the fourth highest in history.
Rita 15.0
Audrey 13.3
Ike 11.8
Laura (preliminary) 11.07
Has it created though?
