It's a stupid seal and they should just design a new one without people on it. Why the fuk are there snow cappped mountains on a seal of New Orleans.

I’ve lived in New Orleans for most of my life and I didn’t even know we had a seal before this.

Almost anytime the Mayor has a press conference it is in front and behind them. All those hurricane briefings and statue grandstanding, it is there.
Pretty non-descript though.

Who gives a shite. Nola is a shite hole and don't tell me otherwise. I grew up there. Will always be run by crooks and idiots. THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. Blame the poor folks who vote based on what they're promised and blame the old rich white people enabling it like Harry Connick Jr and other idiots. NOTHING WILL CHANGE. Stop trying to change it. Let it run itself into the ground. Then they'll be begging for people to come back and rebuild once they destroy the city.

So this Mayor was sitting around and thought to herself "Self today I can either work on a plan to make my cities streets smell less like shite, OR I can spend the day designing a new city seal?" And she chose the latter? That about sum it up?

I'm not sure the messaging coming out of the Cantrell administration is raising folks' confidence level one way or the other. This one completely baffles me. I can't figure out the message here. And I don't know about you, but I just don't care. At the end of the day, that city seal doesn't matter.

He does make a convincing argument. Makes it seem like she's doing this because she can't get anything else done. I'd like to hear her rebuttal, but she won't have one

It's social politics.. Obama did it the entire time he was in office, to make people think he was doing something when in reality he was grossly incompetent, negligent and unqualified.. Mitch was doing it when he took down the statues. It appeals to their voting base.. Let them think you're doing something for them, while you're stuffing your bank account with funds.
