The army has a vote and the army may, as Fukuyama noted, decide to just quit. This isn't Stalinist Russia and Putin can't shoot everybody. I don't know what the probability is but it's considerably greater than zero. They're already bringing in foreign fighters and emptying Russian prisons for recruits.

Haven't seen a good old fashioned triple post in a while. Technical difficulties?

A decent Twitter thread regarding Russian logistics:

Logistics Rule--look at the map. You might be wondering why the Russian invasion of Ukraine looks like a group of almost equidistant road-linked thrusts stretching from Russian and Belarus into Ukraine. (thanks to @Nrg8000 for this) LINK

Putin will keep pouring shite into Ukraine until he has complete control, no matter what he can’t afford to lose or he is dead
He's already sent in all the Chechens he'll ever get and tapped Assad for unprepared fighters he'll never be able to pay.
Cuba, Venezuala and Nicaragua have nothing to offer, Iran has too many problems at and near home to fip their toes in this shite, China refuses to even send them Airplane parts, and Belarus doesn't have a functional army at this point in time.
There is nobody left on this planet who will help Putin militarily.

New video up from The Operations Room on YouTube. It is on Operation Southern Watch, the no-fly zone over Southern Iraq post- Desert Storm.
The Violent Reality of a No-Fly Zone
And if you haven't watched his Desert Storm series, it is well worth it.

Can’t watch your video right now but hopefully some who have been supporting a No fly zone do. It seems to be lost on most that enforcing a no fly zone is a combat operation in every sense of the word.

Yeah I think people underestimate the amount of assholes in the world who are willing to kill western soldiers.

It really is.
Watch the others of his when you get the chance. He's damn good at what he does. He did a particularly good job with conveying the monumental logistics of Desert Storm.

It's one thing to sneak around on your own turf and pop off an RPG once in a while. It's another thing to be wet, cold and hungry in a far off place and then die in an artillery barrage for a cause you don't believe in and barely understand. I expect anyone in that position was voluntold, most likely on pain of severe consequences for them or their family, and they will be much less than highly motivated. The Gurkhas and French Foreign Legion are the only ones who've had large scale consistent success with the concept. Their approach consists of a lot of indoctrination and training, along with considerable benefits on successful completion of enlistment. Russia has neither the time nor inclination for any of this.

The Russians are cowards they won’t attack any supply vehicle that they think is American.

I'm aware. Kadyrov likely can't afford to send in many more of his personal goons while still keeping his stranglehold on his own people.

I have said this before but he did an excellent job. It was the first time I really understood all the pieces in the "war" and I was there.
