Peskov officially confirmed that Lavrov and Putin's aide Ushakov have left for Saudi Arabia for negotiations with the United States delegation.
He added that the meeting will be "devoted primarily to the restoration of relations between the two countries"
"restoration of relations between the two countries" is kremlin speak for wanting US sanctions to be dropped

more on possible sanction relief...

Western reporting suggests that the United States intends to ease sanctions on Belarus. Russia uses Belarus as a staging ground for its military against Ukraine and NATO and as a critical tool in its sanctions evasion schemes. (1/3)

If tweet fails to load, click here. GOP Tiger (Bill) ran for the hills because all of his shite predictions are fixing to come crashing down. He was the Peter Zeihan of the OT Ukraine thread that thought himself a military genius. General Bill.
Like I said he and Keith should start a geopolitical channel on Bluesky.

I don't get that. Trump said yesterday that Zelensky would participate in the negotiations.

Well, he’s Churchill in the negative sense. The UK went from a super power, to a bankrupt second rate state under his leadership.

This is true. And look at the state they are in now.
JD Vance was 100% correct in what he told them. The people of Europe are rejecting policies of globalism/wokeness and politicians like Scholz, Macron, Starmer, etc.

I don’t think those policies have ever been popular. The French and the English hate their governments. And when these issues have come up for a vote, they’ve historically opposed them.
The Germans for their part are an occupied people, and there’s a limited window of acceptable political opinions because of this. The former GDR is the only healthy part of the country, because, oddly enough, the communists did less damage to them than we did.

OPINION: Will Donald Trump Be Another Neville Chamberlain?
The parallels between the 1938 Munich Agreement’s appeasement of Nazi Germany and Donald Trump’s Munich Security Conference accommodation of Putin should not be ignored.
Donald Trump has long sought to portray an image of himself as a strong president who actively defends American interests abroad. His willingness to negotiate with Vladimir Putin about ending the Russo-Ukrainian war without the participation of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, however, risks making Trump look as weak and ineffectual as Neville Chamberlain.

In reality it's negotiations on how to proceed with future negotiations.

I alluded to that yesterday.

Based on what Zelensky said yesterday in an interview regarding Ukraine not ever being willing to formally cede territory to Russia Trump knows that if he is allowed to sit at the table in the initial stage the negotiations are doomed for failure. Russia is going to demand a formal settlement/recognition in regards to cessation of territory, de-militarization, etc. Zelensky is also still saying he wants a million man army. It seems to me Zelensky is unwilling to accept the realities on the ground. If that occurs Russia is prepared and capable of taking additional territory by military force. Ukraine cannot sustain this and Europe cannot stop them. Ukraine and Europe need to recognize that reality. If they don't come around Trump will tell them you are on your own. The US is finished with this.
