1/48th scale Airfix Royal Navy Blackburn Buccaneer S.2D from 809 Naval Air Squadrons HMS Ark Royal August 1978.

The Buccaneer was a ultra low level anti shipping and anti radar strike aircraft used by the Royal Navy back when they had full size aircraft carriers. It is armed with 2 TV Martel anti shipping missiles and one Martel anti radar missile.

When the Royal Navy scrapped their large carriers the Royal Air Force decided they would take the Buccaneers and continue to use them through Desert Storm as a laser guided bombers and buddy laser designators for non equipped drop aircraft. Retired from service in 1994. When they would participate in the Red Flag exercises at Nellis AFB Nevada, they were consistently admired for the extreme low level altitude that their crews would fly at avoiding look down radars of the day

No intention to derail.

Beautiful, intricate piece of work. Weren’t those considered proof that “bricks could fly”?

It is from the same era but that quote about enough power and you can make a brick fly is usually attributed to the F-4 Phantom. This aircraft was high subsonic speed and made its living down in the dirt, usually only carrying one sidewinder air to air missile for self protection definitely not a dog fighter.
