Thanks. It’s all done now. Funeral was sad, mostly because it was pretty much unnecessary.

No one came to the visitation but maybe a handful of family. Less than 20 people total.

I tried to talk reason but the sister wouldn’t hear it. Luckily I got them at least to do the cremation rather than the full funeral. But when it came time to sign the final paperwork, saw the cost, the one that would basically tie them to the bill, tried to convince them again. No avail. Needed 2 signatures, I forbid my lady to sign it. Funeral home down the road would have done the cremation and some little memorial for half the cost.

Sister signed it, I told my fiancée no way no how. So sisters BF or whatever signed it.

I paid the amount I agreed to help out with, and then we had a completely unnecessary 2 visitations and funeral service. 5 grand total, after I talked them down from 8 grand.

I despise the funeral racket

Dem mutter fricking gators got our number. Two times now I have had too do the walk of shame past my gator alum neighbors. Fml

Trust me I understand. My new SO is alot less maintenance and I am fine with that. It took me 10 years to do it again but I am happy with my decision.
