Seems really low. I still have an old 2001 Expedition EB w 142K I've just kept around as a basic knock around defacto truck when needed. Lumber, mulch, you name it errands. Not worth much but comes in handy a hell of a lot.
The new Expedition is still far cheaper to own and operate than a Sequioa.

The new Suburban is the largest SUV available now, and you can get it with the same diesel. It's 1 inch shorter than the old Excursion and has more payload capacity.
With the adjustable air suspension, the new Suburban has more maximum ground clearance (10.1") than the Toyota 4Runner (9.6"), Toyota Sequioa (9.9") or the old Excursion (7.4"). It's a giant vehicle.

Is your seqouia 4x4?
Might be a buyer
Might be a buyer

The answer is always Land Cruiser.
These Land Cruisers actually do last longer than other Toyotas, including the Sequioa. Might be worth the price and fuel economy penalty if you think you can get 15-20 years out of it.

I really like the new Exp. I'm pretty happy I'm not in the market for another large SUV honestly. The tech is just too much to deal with and has to be expensive to worry about over the long term. I gave my Escalade to the squid for college and bought a Passat. Zero complaints so far. I should have taken more time and looked for a, say, 2010 or so 4Runner. Just something normal and easy to deal with.

Don’t want a Tahoe or Expedition.
It's too bad. The Tahoe and Expedition are the best and second best products on the market now, respectively.

IB4 Land Cruiser, anything else is a piece of shite crowd shows up.

I'd probably get the new Yukon.

Do it!
I just got a ‘21 and love it. Overpriced for the technology and fuel economy? Yes, but that’s not why you get a LC. There won’t be a ‘22. Beyond that, who knows? I suspect they will only have the LX and I don’t want the Lexus, styling is too flashy.
I plan to keep it 12-15 years, so other makes were out of the question. Resale on a 14yr old LC is still 20k, so would hold its value better than the sequoia.
Get one of the last LCs in the US. If you do, happy to share what I learned on pricing and timing of last allocations.

The LX will eventually be redesigned and built on the new Toyota truck chassis that will underpin the next generation Tundra, 4Runner, and GX.
So there will soon be no Land Cruiser or Land Cruiser Prado based vehicles for sale in most developed world markets, including the US.

I just compared pricing. They are both $70k listed price at dealerships. Depends on how many miles you need cover on a daily basis but the average buyer probably wouldn't see a significant difference in price of ownership for the first 5 years.

Get a Sienna. It’s what you need.

Pretty big difference in fuel costs. Doesn't the Toyota's MPG average in the low teens?

Ford Expedition 17 City / 23 Hwy
Toyota Sequoia 13 City / 17 Hwy
It's not like you're getting fantastic mpg with the Expedition either

That's a huge difference over the life of the vehicle. Many thousands of dollars.

Over the entirety of a vehicles life? Yes
Over the average length of ownership? Probably isn't a huge difference
I'm in the market for a large SUV wife wagon. The MPG for a Sequoia isn't what would prevent buying. It's the interior. For a $70k vehicle I wouldn't care too much about a little extra or less in gas costs unless I had a 30+ min. commute to work.

I'd think with the respective resale and trade-in values, you'd make up those savings with the Sequoia, especially if it's 4WD.

Resale values of domestic full sized SUVs are all pretty solid lately.
KBB - it actually has the Yukon as the best in class.
quote:
Yukon - Predicted Resale Value after 5 Years of Ownership: 40.2% of original sticker price
Sequoia - Predicted resale value after 5 years of ownership: 40.0% of original sticker price
Expedition - Predicted resale value after 5 years of ownership: 39.9% of original sticker price
That's off original sticker price, so it's probably even better for the domestic brands as they can sometimes be had with pretty generous discounts when new.
