Is this what Brett was talking about last night? This is not good.

On the same road as the isle of Capri. It’s definitely a decomposition of chlorine. For those of you that don’t know, chlorine can burn for hours and create hug clouds of smoke

BioLab is on the same road as Citgo and Westlake Polymers right?
No, it’s right across i10 from Phillips 66

Any confirmation what the chemical is?

Doesn't look like chlorine.
My thoughts as well. If it was chlorine it would be a much, much bigger deal.

Gonna disagree here.

Apparently trichloric acids and water cause fire

They're close. I believe Citgo and Westlake Chemicals are off Hwy 108 in Sulphur. Biolab is right near the I10 bridge in Westlake.

Yep and from the looks of it, the cloud is blowing right over the refinery. That could pose serious problems for P66 depending on the chemical.

I know one of the 2 people at the plant trying to put the decomp out right now. I’ve done some work for the plant and can say from first hand experience, it’s gonna be tough to put out a decomp.

Ammonia maybe?
Could be. And hell it might even be chlorine, although I've seen a chlorine cloud and it had a yellow/green hue to it, unlike the cloud in the picture.

Yea anytime I’ve seen chlorine it’s been more yellow.

Trichlor
THIS
Could be the aftermath of a fusion. If they still had product and lost agitation/cooling due to power lost this could have happened.

hey @slowflopro please don't come back there until this chemical stuff is under control
Posted on 8/27/20 at 10:20 am to NeonSunburst
The chemical is trichlor that is decomping. They may have additives in it but the main component is the trichlor.

And what are the harmful affects of this chemical, if any?
