A now deceased friend never owned a home. He did own land with timber and oil and a piece of a number of oilfields internationally. He never owned a home because he didn't want to have staff to deal with. He only had suites in luxury hotels. He also dated, some of these were rentals, because he didn't want the botheration of marriage.
