I was told in person by one of the bourbon building tenants a month back...so take it for what its worth. Not his building.

Also, a lot of the businesses were putting grease and other stuff down the drain for decades according to him.

Eta: if the increasing violence, lack of potable water at downtown hotels, or useable toilets at the airport doesn’t negatively affect tourism in the long run, I doubt infrastructure problems under bourbon street will.

You’re point is well taken, though. It’s just hilarious that it was imperative to fix Bourbon Street ASAP, when many of the city’s major thoroughfares have been under construction for the better part of five years, and apparently the SWB hasn’t cleaned out the drain catches or fixed the pumps and generators in the last few years.
