Amazing how, after Katrina, Lakeside Mall went one way and Esplanade Mall went the other !

I don’t have to go to Lakeside often; maybe once every two years or so. Every time I do go, it’s busy and doing good business. Almost feels like the 80’s.

This has been my limited experience as well. JP law enforcement apparatus is probably part of the reason. Would be totally different if it were in Orleans.

SO went there this afternoon with some girlfriends. She's about to head back west but called me from inside to say how much of a cultural experience it was.

Needless to say, I don't think she will be back anytime soon. Essentially the one store she goes to is about to open a location in Baton Rouge which will be better for both of us.

Largely because the Esplanade is a pain in the arse to get to unless you're from Kenner, brah.

Lakeside is how most normal midsize city shopping malls are outside of Louisiana. It’s a shame you find this fascinating

That is one of the few malls that seems to be doing well.
They have been renovated several times and have had lots of restaurants and such investing on the property in the last 10 years.

Have places that appeal to the rich rather than places that appeal to the poor like Esplanade.

If you see Joe Yenni you might want to run.

He’s been dead a long time.
