Lakers Floor Seats

There are several nearly insurmountable barriers to scoring courtside seats. First, a single courtside ticket costs $116,000 per season (including preseason). Second, despite the insane price tag, these seats have an extremely long wait list. Finally, every single seat is grandfathered in, meaning an existing owner has to either die or be willing to sell you his/her set for whatever you are willing to pay.
Jack Nicholson was once asked who he would leave his Laker seats and he joked/told the truth 'probably the highest bidder'
Another report shows that Magic Johnson Sold 5% ownership stake and 4 seats to Patrick Soon-Shiong and kept one seat for himself
These people have the money to make an offer someone couldn't refuse but people only seem to sublet the seats to other people instead of selling them outright. One person sold two for an undisclosed amount.
How much at auction do you think, say Nicholson's, seats would go for? Is it the most valuable property per square foot in the world? $5 million per? More?

I'll take "things no one cares about" for $1000 Alex.

Nobody sitting courtside paid for their tickets. FYI.

While you may be right. That's not the message here. Somebody somewhere DID pay for those seats.

According to who? Someone who likes to watch a bunch of guys running up and down a court to put a ball in a basket?
The sad part is that these people don’t even like basketball that much. The go to the games to be seen and talked about in the entertainment world. Why? Because some common people have nothing to look forward to in life except to say “did you see xyz at the lakers game last night”. Kind of sad and lame all around.

I don't want to end up with 2 sweaty players in my lap having a fight.

It’s pretty sad that anybody would pay to watch these kneeling thugs disrespect our law enforcement when that money could be donated to buy them new body armor or m16s

Wrong. California has 1/3 of the country’s welfare people

That's almost dumb as your famous OT poster thread.

According to who? Supply and demand. There is a list of rich fricks who would shell out to own the rights to the seats regardless of why they want them. My question is, how high does the price go if a set of them ever goes to public auction. You'd have international bidders bidding for the rights to them simply to say they own them. Saudi's, Chinese, etc.
