I told my wife she was fake a year or 2 ago. She wanted to argue with me so I asked her if she's ever met someone from Louisiana that talked like that and it ended the conversation.
I don't doubt that she has a natural country twang to her, but she definitely exaggerates it.

Her entire persona seems fake to go along with the accent. No idea how it happened, but all of a sudden she was in everything everywhere. shite, they stuck her in Yellowstone at the height of its popularity.

Had a friend that was a girl that was from Tallulah Louisiana and she had the same exact accent as Lainey. shite is real. Same area roughly.

She hasn’t lived in Louisiana for 10-12 years now. That accent is purely manufactured at this point to sell music. My accent has disappeared over the years.
