Laffy prosecutor involved in hit-and-run boat crash in 2021, why the 5 continuances?

Seems prolonging it would piss off the families of the kids he hit even more. What am I missing?

2 years isn’t that long. And there could be number of reasons for continuances. Normally it’s because of conflicts in the attorney’s schedule.

Correct. 5 continuances in a case is probably average or below.
