Lafayette standoff ends with "subject" suicide

On Jefferson St. Today. I didn't hear about this at all.

UPDATE: LPD has confirmed that the subject inside the home on Jefferson St. was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. SWAT made entrance to the home and found the subject inside. An investigation into this development is ongoing.
Cpl. Dugas said police will release the name of the subject shortly.
She said the victim has been released from the hospital and is being interviewed by police. Cpl. Dugas added that there is an indication that the subject and the victim had a relationship, but it is unclear to what extent.
Latest update, shortly after 5 p.m.:

Police say they are currently at the scene of the shooting which occurred in the 600 block of Jefferson Street at a residence. There is traffic control in the area.
Police say they believe the suspect was last seen possibly entering the residence and are currently negotiating his surrender. Law enforcement can be heard speaking to the person over loud speaker. Police say they do not believe anyone besides the suspect is in the residence at this time.
