I'd bet we know each other. But as a product of public schools in St. Landry Parish, I wouldn't calculate the odds as well as you do!
Without doubt ESA is academically challenging. But AES is no slouch.
Hell, both schools are terrific when it comes right down to it.

I love my Huntington Park neighborhood. Great location, as far as I am concerned. However, many of the homes were built around 1980, so you might have to be prepared to update, unless you find one that's already been done.
Ballers live deeper into the subdivision, on one end of Doyle Dr. Actually, I guess that's a different subdivision, Georgetown Loop.
ETA: My kid went to STM, but we are not old money. Hell, we aren't even new money. He did fine, but maybe because he didn't give a crap about in crowd or out crowd stuff.

I'm a few neighborhoods down from you.
I'm looking forward to the back to school traffic on K. Saloom.....how about you?

It's a nice neighborhood, but then I'd likely have to drive into Lafayette for work.

About 3 miles.

Yeah but that three miles is a pain. And you have to do it multiple times a day. At least an hour wasted a day if so. The place is beautiful and the city will grow that way making it much more convenient in 5 years from now I bet.
Youngsville is nothing but two lane roads going in and out. I would not recommend living in Youngsville and commuting to Lafayette for work.
For example, Youngsville highway traffic at 5pm is normally backed up from the light at Ambassador all the way to Pinhook and beyond. That area is also full of industrial vehicles putting around 15mph under the speed limit.

Schools are:
Elementary: Broadmoore/Woodvale
Middle: Edgar Martin/LJ Alleman
High School: Lafayette High
Added a couple options to this. These are the public schools you want. Live in these neighborhoods.

I'm REALLY looking forward to the Whole Foods traffic and then later the Costco traffic!

They have since punched through a stub out that comes out at Academy/Starbucks.

The Settlement has some wonderful homes and yards. I'd pick it over RR, except for that damn left hand turn out of the neighborhood.
ETA: Oops, I see fin covered that.
Edited again: I didn't know that went into The Settlement. I thought it was just through to Feu Follet.

Yeah that's convenient. Don't live over there, but I know it's hassle to get out on Kaliste from there. That cut through they made is nice.

There is a falcon that regularly sits on the power line in front of that Rooster Antique market that my son decided to name Jimmy.
Tell Jimmy hello when you see him
Whole Foods traffic. Don't know what it's gonna look like. The same customer base is already shopping this area of town as it is.

I can see the Settlement across the bayou from me. Sad thing is I could swim the bayou quicker that I could drive over there.

Rooster Antique market is pretty cool. I will look for Jimmy and say hello.
So, LO Peck or East Peck or the Promised Land or Ramblewood.
