Safe...but a lot of potholes. Also don’t speed and kick up dirt, you’ll be fine.

On a side note...if you have a free weekend and feel like getting out and exploring, consider taking 975 north of Krotz Springs till it hits LA-417, and then hang a right on LA-10.

You’ll be in the beginning portion of the Morganza Spillway and will catch a glimpse of “Louisiana’s Stonehenge.” Which is the elevated train bridge that passes trains over the spillway.

Not a lot of people go around there.

I took it by chance one time about 4PM as I saw a fire starting from a wreck at the top of the bridge on I10

Always thought they may pave this rd or the butte la rose to krotz springs rd for this purpose. If they ever needed to reroute I-10 for an emergency then these would be some of the only options. It is Louisiana though so i never expect them to pave either

Good route to know when the Baden is completely stopped and you are in a place you can get to it. I used it one Sunday night on the way back in from my duck camp and it saved me hours of sitting parked. Curves can be tough if hauling arse and its bumpy, but not too bad. As a side note I had a Dr buddy take it not long ago in his Mercedes amg due to shut down ahead of him and didn't have any issues other than a very dirty car
