YEah, because of the serious answers I'll post a pic... not of the wife though. This is yesterday. Too young for knee trouble.

Definitely go MRI but also ask your doctor about the possibility of a posterolateral corner tear (not to be confused with the PCL or Posterior Cruciate Ligament). This won't show up on an MRI

Great looking kid, he looks happy, anyway give it another week, everybody screaming for MRI's are just jumping the gun, a good ortho should be able to tell you what is wrong without an MRI and use an MRI to confirm. Keep the compression and ICE going, if the ortho thought the ligaments were in good shape with physical exam, apart from something crazy the other structure in there is meniscus and I doubt anyone would even scope it at this point. Work on inflammation, quad control and follow your Dr's advice

kind of
shows up but is often overlooked or missed on both physical exam and MRI.
