I can't remember if that was the last year for students to be in Caruthers or not, but if it wasn't, it didn't last much longer

Yeah, I think that was the last year. I think it sat idle for a year before the Katritians took it over.

Ponchatoulas was the best bar in that whole damn city. I was only at Tech for a year and I spent almost every night there.

We'd go to Sundown for a greasy burger when we were hungover from ponch.

I do miss Ruston from time to time. I remember we'd sit on our front porch and shoot a potato gun towards the natatorium and wait for the loud bang.

If you are out at 2 am in Ruston you better not be drinking at all and driving, freaking cops assume anyone driving at that hour is drunk until proven sober.

They will tailgate you with their bright lights on until you give them a reason to stop you.

Never failed, it would rain 3" before a big concert. REK was on the small stage, was a good show. Charlie Robison opened for him IIRC.

Friend and I at Rabbs - drunk out of our mind. He tells our ride to go ahead and leave, and promises he was going to get us a ride (basically he was going to pick the ladies from the crowd that would drive us home).

Well we ended up walking. The drunken Odyssey included a walk to Waffle House, and then a walk past the highschool to where ever his apartment was located.

That's much better than driving to that waffle house while cops are tailing your arse. We were lucky though because instead of taking a right out of Rabbs parking lot we took a left and our house was somewhat a straight shot from there.
