Is it considered odd if it’s someone else’s toes?

I found them (or something very similar) at CVS or Walgreen's - can't remember which. They do work good.

Watching this vet in Africa pop mangoworms out of dogs on YouTube

I've done this to a person. Put petroleum jelly over the bump to suffocate them and they pop right out shortly after.

ETA - Bot fly not mango fly.

How does anyone let it get that bad before doing something?

Yeah some of the ones I've seen, the vet is really pissed at the people and tells them "if this happens again I'll make you eat every one that I get out of your dog." I wish he would really do that to some of them.

Where do they come from?

The mangoworm is the larvae of the mango fly or tumbu fly. They're native to central and eastern Africa. They're parasites of mammals large and small in their larval stage of life. It is also called the "skin maggot".

Yeah, if you clean out the belly button, or between the toes, you know it’s gonna stink...but you gotta smell it.

A couple of years ago I had this persistent nagging feeling in my belly button, like a bruise or something, that wouldn't go away for at least a couple of weeks. I would constantly scratch but never really looked to investigate what was going on underneath the surface.

One night at a Braves game I had the wild idea to just squeeze and see what happened. BOOM! The most pus I had ever seen came flying out and landed on the chair in front of me. Thankfully the only other person in our group who saw it was my ex girlfriend, who promptly ushered me to the nearest bathroom.

Wave after wave of pus came out of that thing. It was so damn satisfying. It projectile shot all over the damn bathroom too.

I watched one of that guy’s videos where two puppies were brought in. One of the pups was so infested he had to put it down. Really sad.
