It sure does. This sentimental old man often gets misty eyed thinking about it. Especially when I think of things we didn’t do or stupid things I did do or say, but also good times we had that are long gone. I often wish I could go back in time even just for a short while to do something different or to just savor the experience more.

The best description I heard of child raising was that the days (and nights) were long but the years were fast.
The saddest dreams I’ve had were of folks who have already passed away. On the sadness scale, the next up are the dreams of my kids when they were young; it was such a wonderful time for me.
Grandkids make up for it to a large degree.

I will attest to the psychological loss experienced when the kids leave the house.miss my little ones every day . Grandkids please.

Yes !! I am in the same boat. Almost lost it at a college visit a few weeks ago. 0-18 goes fast.
