Dang Baw. You’re not much older than me. Have you had blood pressure issues for a long time? Couldn’t treat them with meds?

Just responding to say my wife is nurse for in home dialysis. They train patients to do the treatment at home. I would look into this.

I was on meds but not really keeping up with checking my pressure. Not to be a conspiracy theorist issues got worse after I got the vaccine.
I lost weight and felt good so I didn't really go to my doctors.
Then in November I started Gaining weight. Then in December I hurt my foot and stayed mostly off of it but in that time I kept gaining weight. It was all water weight. Of course I waited until I felt like I was dying before I went to Dixie doctor and doctor sent me to er.

Not diabetic. But my heart needs weren't working and I at the time wasn't checking BP like I should. Now I check multiple times daily. I'm at 132/80 as of an hour ago.
My high was 220/155.

I can also appreciate your hesitation about asking a loved one for a kidney transplant. I went through a big spiritual crisis about that, but my family would not possibly let me forgo the transplant.

All 8 of my siblings get tested, plus my wife and several of my cousins. I didn’t even need to ask. My wife put that information out on my behalf with the help of the transplant team. Family and friends lined up to offer me one of their organs!!

It was such an emotional time and I never felt so loved! I just needed to learn how to receive that love. I am so used to doing for others and being the responsible one for my family that learning to receive love and sacrifice was very difficult. But in the process, I learned in a new and powerful way, a bodily way, about God’s loving sacrifice for me. It transformed my faith in God in new and powerful ways, and not just for me, but for my whole circle of family and friends.

This is pretty awesome and interesting. A lot of us likely have a similar type of personality. Love the story of how it worked out for you.

I had my BP get out of control recently. No problems for years and then a problem. I now check often though not obsessively. And I was placed on new meds. I hope everything works out for you and I hope kidney function gets better and if not you can get a transplant. You are still young.

Yeah that high was pretty high.

Did they do a biopsy of the kidney? It was the biopsy which allowed them to diagnose me with IGA Nephropathy.

I’m surprised if they haven’t. Knowing the cause of the disease is an important step even in post-transplant surgery, because they/you will need to protect your new kidney, and the correct meds will need to be prescribed.

Blood pressure meds are not all the same.

Also for example in my case, I’ll be on a certain level of Prednisone for the rest of my life to deal with my over production of immunoglobulin A (IGA).

Silver lining is I have 4 people offering their kidney.
Still that's down the line.
I'm not sure I want to do it. I may just say F it and deal with having the weak kidney. I don't want to do this.

Do it as soon as you qualify, before your body deteriorates any further. A kidney transplant while you are reasonably healthy is a simple and straight-forward surgery, and recovery is fairly easy.

I'm sorry this is happening to you, but you're in a good spot, and clearly have people who care about you.
