I have formal training. Thanks for the concern though.

What is the acceptable failure rate? 40+ million units with less than 400 failures. Going back to 1973!!!

You better really hope you don't screw up then. Good Samaritan coverage doesn't apply at all.

I was in the business in the 80s in Chicago. Kidde was garbage. We sold Ansul and General.

I'll take my chances.

All considered that's not really a lot. I would expect it to be almost 1000x that number.
You expected 40 billion fire extenguishers were affected?

Better carry a lawsuit extinguisher

Um. No.
That would be 1 million times.

Thanks for the heads up. I have two on the list.

The article says 37.8 million units are impacted.

All we sold was ansul when I was in the fire protection industry. We never had any problems with extinguishers or hood equipment

Yeah, that's about how many I assumed.

I used to install Ansul systems in Chicago in the early 80s. Took me to a lot of cool places and I learned a lot about pipe fitting, and the life of a laborer. Motivated me to return to college, so I always appreciate that about those years.
But, man, I have stood on a lot of hot griddles on an asbestos blanket with my head in the hood, cleaning heads and changing fusible links! Usually a kitchen manager screaming at me to hurry up.
