This ads up.
Years ago I caught on to this in my store.
Parents would let the kid push around baby stroller in a home center which is unusual considering how you have pickers and people with ladders moving around.
My Loss prevention stopped them and found $1,000 worth of rotary hammer bits. These are easy to sell on the street.
Found out they stole perfume from a drug store to sell on the street and over time it was thousands of dollars.
Had another old guy acted helpless come in with sports coat with extra pockets. Loss Prevention caught him with $4,000 worth of small tools and things he can sell on the street.

Who is buying roto hammer bits?

What ever drug store and auto parts store on Perkins at college. They share the same parking lot. Why would I make this up?

We don’t doubt your story. We just wonder why you don’t know what store you went to.

Should have executed the child’s parents on site.
There really should be licensing in order to procreate.

Laborers who work for small crews.
Boss gives them cash and they go steal the bits or can get them on the street.
They keep the cash.
Some of these bits runs $40 to over $100.
I ended up locking mine up and put cards where they take it to the cashier. Cashier calls a manager to get the bit for the customer after he pays for it.

That by shoplifting is rated differently, over $500 is felony grade.

What’s it matter? The items aren’t worth that much plus there is a child involved so no reason for any kind of response right?

Shoplifting is getting ridiculous and most of these companies have a do not engage policy. Walgreens have been hit constantly as they come in and steel booze and other shite. Employees see it but can’t do anything about it and it’s not even worth it to call the cops unless it’s a felony amount

The store called brpd and within a few minutes two units were pulling up and had the car pulled over.
This is the most amazing part of your story.
It’s Father’s Day and BRPD doesn’t have enough domestics to keep them busy?

Shity parents.
If I'd tried that, my parents would've beat my arse.

I was at that same Walgreens on Thursday this past week. I witnessed two males make out with a decent bit of groceries. They just walked on out and drove away. The manager was yelling at them but he couldn’t do anything and they knew it. They didn’t seem to be in much of a hurry and knew they’d get away with it.

There usually is more to the story.
If it a consistent shoplifter and they have a court order to keep them off the property.
Or
They could have been watching for them in the area as they probably hit a few stores.

Can you describe these males? Were they white and wearing MAGA hats?

I'm going to have to search and find the thread because I didn't get a chance to finish reading it, but a week or so ago someone else started a thread on someone stealing from Lowes or Home Depot.
I'm pretty active in recovery meetings and treatment centers and I OFTEN hear of people stealing from Home Depot. I don't know if it's just because they have expensive items or if it's really just that easy, but they seem to be a frequent target. One guy said that he stole 20 lawn mowers over a month or something. So, he's probably exaggerating but even if it's 7-8, is it really that easy?
I'd be scared to steal a tube of chapstick, much less a damn lawn mower. That's a true level of not giving a shite.
