I went to check on a friend's house afterwards and a neighbor rolled up and pulled an AR on me. I had to explain everything and go over my friends entire family tree as well as my friends before he chilled and believed me.

Couple of NG guys rolled up as we were gutting my house. I told them somebody left all this free sheet rock and insulation lying around.

Small chuckle and some free bottled water.

The biggest lesson from Katrina iin NO is when you feed wild animals they no longer fend for themselves and when you stop feeding them they turn on you. Quit feeding feral humans.

I know somebody who was hired earlier that year by Ray Nagin to be his personal Public Relations firm. The firm would take months to get paid... by FEMA.
