I couldn't name who has done that for either of the most recent Olympics, I'd wager i'm not the only one.
Also, he played at a little event called the Super Bowl halftime show.

And? I couldn't tell you who played it the last 5 years.
I really can't believe yall think this is some crazy notion. What exposure would most 25 and under people have to the Beatles?

I'm pretty into music, have actually played in a few bands, and will give anything an objective listen, but to put your statement in perspective, McCartney is still getting airplay for things that came on the scene over 50 years ago. Personally, I couldn't tell you one thing that Kanye West has done "musically," if you held a gun to my head.

It isn't a debate that McCartney/Lennon is the greatest songwriting duo of all time. Their songs are CONSTANTLY covered and redone, they still sell a shitton of records.
McCartney has played the Olympics and the SB in recent years.
I don't even know how this is a debate.

You are the perfect allegory to my stance. If I was closed minded, I would say how can you possibly not know one song kanye has made.
But I'm not, so I won't

LNCHBOX has already clarified for us that neither of those events are that important

Like I said, there is more people today that could pick Kanye out of a line-up than that knew who Paul was at his most famous time.
If you really want to talk "musically" and ignore the entire thread, we can talk how the Beatles may possibly be the most overrated band of all time, but that is a different thread for the music board.

Both of my kids (early to mid 20s) have XM/sirus radio in there cars, every time I get in one of their cars it is on the classic vinyl channel.

That's not what I said at all.

That's either one hell of an attempt at a troll job or the dumbest thing I have read on the OT, ever.

Your kids aren't the norm, and I'm pretty sure you'd admit that.

I may have heard something that he's done and not have known it. As I posted, I'm really into music and am pretty objective, but to quote Sir Paul, "I tried listening to rap, but I just don't get it."

That may be true these days, but there are plenty of opportunities for exposure to the Beatles. I grew up mostly in the 90's and was well aware of their music and legacy, same with Elvis.

Beatles rock band. An entire video game based on Beatles' music targeted toward a younger demographic.
The whole notion that you can't name the last 5 Super Bowl performers is silly. Just because you don't know them off the top of your head doesn't mean you are not familiar with them as artists. I can't tell you who the last five Super Bowl champs were, but if you told me I bet I could tell you who their quarterback was.

Sounds like you just don't know much about anything. Both my nephews know who the Beatles and The Rolling Stones are. One is in Jr High and the other is in High School.

Or I knew it when it was happening, and years later it is a useless piece of trivia I no longer recall.
