should be shipped in 3-4 days. Any thoughts on these irons? A buddy of mine owns a driving range here in town and got me a pretty good deal...got them at his wholesale price. Got fitted at Edwin Watts a few weeks ago looking forward to getting them.

Love the AP1s. All i've played with for last 10-12 years or more maybe... so solid.
Got fitted this past weekend myself. Full-on hook up to the swing monitors. More data that i can even digest.
I've played mainstream irons since forever. Had first AP1's. Had another set since. Had some Pings and the old Titleist DCIs back in the day.
And what in 2016 did the best fitter in Arkansas and golf teacher of the year in this state put me in... Srixon Z 545s. Holy hell and WTF???
They're the sweetest godd*mn clubs i've ever seen. So pure it stupid. The numbers dont lie. Smash factor (lol.. i know) was consistently 1.45+ which is super good.
It's crazy and i had some buyer's anxiety, but i told myself i'd go in with a clean slate and let the computer do it's job.
I also got the new Taylormade M1 with the new Fujikura Speeder Evo 2 shaft. Ping Crossover (17 degree) w/ X-stiff shaft and the new Titleist Vokey irons (58, 54, 50) in the gun metal. They're pretty dope, too.

Should've went AP2s, although I own some AP1 714s that aren't used, the feeling of a cast head vs a forged iron are night and day.

This, if you're a 10 or better handicap. The AP2's are money and make you a better ball striker.

I agree with the 2nd part of your statement about them being money if you're a good ball striker, they are not only for 10 handicap or less though, that's up for interpretation and opinion more than anything.

People who are higher handicaps tend to need more forgiving clubs. It's not set in stone, but it's a good rule of thumb.

I've hit the 745's w/ proj x 6.5's at Golfmith and love em.
I'll probably be switching to these soon. the 765's are about to be released and will cost less. currently playing I20's

This is me...way too inconsistent with my swing and don't find the sweet spot near enough......also, don't play near as much as I would like to. This will be a big upgrade with what I'm currently playing with and they should last me for a while.

I just ordered the new M1 as well with the tour AD DI 80 gram shaft. I demo'd last weekend and was great.
I consider myself to be a long hitter but I was having problems hitting the ball too high, with an occasional balloon effect. I get 20-30 more yards with the aftermarket stiff and heavier shaft with a 16-17 degree launch angle. Also, decreased my spin rate from ~5000 rpm to 1950 rpm

You must have a 115+ mph swing speed if you're gaming this.

It's 112, and I'm thinking of getting the 70 gram instead but the guy who fit me has both in stock so I will hit them again when the m1 head comes in
He told me the 80 gram would be a little better for my swing since I hit it so high but I'm not sure how legit that is

I have the same swing speed and spin rate (5k rpm). Did the aftermarket shaft alone lower your ball spin that much or did you make other changes? I'd kill to see that big of a spin reduction...

Just the shaft...there was a different head on the demo but same degree and everything as my current driver.
I hit the ping i20 with the factory stiff shaft right now - 9.5 degree
Changed the shaft in a m1 9.5 degree and there it was

go get hooked up to a track man and try different shafts...it's worth it
I need to do the same on my irons but that will have to wait because I'm about to get married and trying to save some money
