TBH, getting laid helps a ton, but so does having someone to talk to and go to stuff with. Obviously, if you have a great set of guy friends, then you have people you can already go out to eat, to ballgames, movies, and concerts with, then you won't miss that part of being in a relationship as much. However, my dude friends are always broke, so when I had my first gf post-divorce, I was really happy just having someone other than my parents to go with me to the movies and to basketball games.
Don't underrate the value of having someone to really talk to. Just talking through stuff really can make you feel a ton better.
