We spoke with infectious-disease specialists about how to handle this widespread variant. Here are their answers to our questions.

One bit of reassurance: Anecdotally, it looks like the illness caused by the delta variant is no more severe than that caused by the other variants so far, said Allison Bartlett, a pediatric infectious-disease specialist with University of Chicago Medicine.

During this phase of the pandemic, O’Leary said, approach the idea of taking unvaccinated children to indoor public places the same way you do during flu season. “In general, for a kid under 12, the risk for them is not the same as influenza, but it’s in the ballpark,” he said. “So the same decisions you’d make during flu season, this is similar.”

This is about statistically impossible... The re-infection rate is below 1% for Covid.

Exactly. The tests are shite. False positives everywhere. I would bet a simple sinus infection would trigger a positive on those tests

Well now that 4x4tiger and BhamBlazeDog says it's impossible...I guess those people are just lying to everyone and their doctors are also lying

This is why you can't argue with you type of people. You get your panties in a wad, take your ball and go home.

You do not have Covid. Most likely you have crabs. There is a crab epidemic going around that is causing false positives on covid tests.

Take a swig of Grandpappy's White Lightning recipe or a tablespoon of 20 ppm colloidal silver, and call it good. I've not read the latest statistics, but the mortality rate was 0.3% overall. Of those, only 6% were Covid "only". That's a 0.0018% chance of covid only death.

After a day or so, ingest some probiotics like plain yogurt or Jarrow probiotics. The Colloidal Silver is the "nuke option" on micro organisms. It'll get the good bugs too.

You'll be good as new.

Does that mean the initial testing can't differentiate between COVID and the flu? If so, your positive test was actually the flu and is why you test negative with the rapid tests?

No. This means that for the upcoming Flu season the CDC wants testing sites to use a test that detects Flu and Covid at the same time. This is being done to save resources and time.

Currently, if a patient tests Negative for Covid, in order to determine if the patient has the Flu, a separate test must be done.
