I would have expected diagnostics to be crowded due to the folks who already put off tests but I guess they are still putting them off.

On another note, one hour MRIs suck.

And the piped in music doesn’t help much with noise.

Many patients go through 3 hour MRI scans.

One hour isn't THAT bad

They gave me headphones and asked what SiriusXM station I wanted to listen to for mine, and it was only about 30 minutes.

My Pops and uncles had a conversation once about them, "Shoving you in that barrel."
They came to the agreement that they all hated it.

They suck. I use to get my abdomen scanned regularly. It isn't a long scan, but the song and dance of going there to do it was aggravating. Now they are comfortable doing Ultrasounds for monitoring purposes, if they find anything they will probably make me go back to the MRI.

They needed contrast dye which is why it took so long. And the headphones system was broken so just earplugs which made me feel more like being in a coffin.

I have had at least 20 different MRIs but they do not get better. At least for me. This one is almost certainly a prelude to my 5th spinal surgery.

If your head is in the tube or out of the tube makes all the difference.

I had a PET test on my heart recently. I fell asleep in the thing. They had to wake me up when it was over laughing saying I was snoring.

I wished I had scheduled it for 8am. I would have tried that. I was already caffeinated for the day.

Yes they do.

Funny prank: next time, swallow a few steel BBs right before the scan. When the radiologist sees the initial image, it really freaks them out. But then its all good.

I once had to do physicals with 4 other guys for an oilfield company. We all had to get an MRI. I believe it was about 45 minutes long or so. Guy before me shite on himself. He wasn’t even embarrassed or at least he didn’t act like he was.
I was hoping that cleaned that damn thing.

I had about a 30-40 minute MRI back in January. Bulging disc in my neck so I didn’t have to go too far into the tube. Talked to my lil sis who is going through cancer treatments and every 6 weeks she has to get CT scans and MRIs done and is there most of a day. 40 minutes didn’t seem so bad after that.

Ive had one before. I totally loved it. Cool room. Warm blanket. Constant, loudish hum. I slept like a baby. Hated to get up and leave.
