yea it is and he also had a form of spotted fever. I dont frick around with ticks. If i see one, the house burns down.

just pull the ticks off and keep them...if you get a rash at the bite site or fever, go to the emergency room where they can treat you....don't wait, as lyme disease gets a lot more difficult to treat if ignored for a while...
ETA: I had a tick on my scrote a while back, and can tell you that they leave one hell of an itchy bite that lasts for a while...

I got Lyme about 8 years ago from two small ticks. Got them while working around Merdian. Took about 4 weeks for it to show up. The next 2 months was a mother fricker.
ETA:
Your immune system goes HAM on your body. But Lyme is not the worst. Apparently, there's a hoofed allergy that is caused by a tick bite. You get it and no more beef for you.
