Compressor is dead. Please suggest ways I can commit suicide. No sleep for me tonight. And g/f isn't answering her phone. FML

That sucks. I remember back when I was a kid , coming home from vacation in July to a broken A/C.

Antifreeze smells like it would have a more pleasant taste.

So you're not able to just go to your girlfriends house?

Why call? Show up, explain the situation, shouldn't be a problem if she knows she's your girlfriend

You sure it's not a capacitor? I've had it go out on mine twice in the past 3yrs. Takes the HVAC guy 10mins to change it.

How do you know for sure it is the compressor? If it doesn't kick on at all maybe your drain is stopped up and your overflow pan is full and it triggered the float to shut off the unit. Just a thought and that would be a quick fix.

My capacitor went out last week. I was all out of plutonium and I needed 1.21 gigawatts to restart it. Luckily lightning hit the ac unit. All is good now.

85 degrees and a fan in the shade isn't too bad. Stop being a pussy.

My compressor went out too. Was 92 in my house all of Thursday night. I know of at least four people whose AC's have broken in the last week -- strange.
