I guess you can just call it a job. The guy is the teams artist. Plenty of the teams give the artist a cut of the sales from the exchanges. Its purely up to the teams how they distribute the money

I’m not talking about how they split the money. Who owns the copyright?

The mints now are super risky because plenty of the so called blue chip stuff is already out and established.

A big gripe now on twitter is that all the mints now are basically white listed where only a few select people are eligible for mints. Big wallets, holders of expensive nfts, etc. Its the same thing that crypto has been doing for years.

Keeping the gravy train rolling. Whats funny is the crypto space has done exactly what they rail the financial world for doing. Oh well

But won’t there still be scarcity and supply and demand principles at play in the metaverse?

i have no idea. i'm not well versed on this stuff at all.

but how i understand it (i don't understand it) is there are/will be enough servers (blockchains?)that there will be a place for everyone in the metaverse, so to speak.

dude, have you browsed instagram lately?

its all about signaling social status on a digital platform; this is the same idea.

theres a few NFTs ill never sell because of the community though, ive gotten hats, shirts, coffee, access to multiple high value $$$$ drops; feeling like you belong to a group even if its online is very satisfying and people are lonelier than ever before so its only going to keep growing

digital property in the metaverse isnt scarce but people will pay a premium for "better" metaverse features.

owning a bored ape or a solana monkey business is scarce though because of the limited supply.

A related question...when you buy an NFT what are you actually buying exactly? And is any of that memorialized in writing?

To my knowledge, with the nfts I deal with, the copyright doesnt transfer to me. This isnt the same as me taking an LSU logo and going to sell it on tshirts in my store.

The space is so new that theyre still trying to lay the foundation for the rules and regulations. Same goes for crypto

How NFTs impact copyright owners

It is no secret that the sale of an NFT does not necessarily transfer the underlying copyright in the work which exists "off-chain" to the purchaser. Such is the case when selling a physical copy of nearly any type of creative work — the transfer of the underlying copyright is up to the creator or most recent copyright owner.

Ownership of a copyright provides exclusive rights to the owner under 17 USC § 106 — the right to reproduce the work, prepare derivative works, distribute copies, to display the work publicly, and to perform the work publicly. So how will the transfer of a newly "minted" sub-edition of a creative work ultimately impact a copyright holder? Will we see a new wave of counterfeit issues for copyright holders? Will this increase the burden on copyright owners to employ heightened monitoring standards on platforms that the majority of the public has never even accessed?

Although the popularity of NFTs has only fairly recently skyrocketed, the answers to these questions have begun to unfol

Did anyone get in on the DGD (Damn Good Dog) drop a few weeks ago? Some former UGA players teamed up with Dapper labs (NBA Top Shot, NFLAllday, UFC etc.)and the market place opens tonight I believe. The first drop sold out within a day. Niche but could do well at first as owning one actually gets you into exclusive events and tailgates and meet and greets.

Maybe a few Georgie fans on here did but I doubt anyone else jumped into it.

This is a good example though for people asking how they include nfts into real life uses

What about sports related NFTs? I know very little about the metaverse. The only thing I know is that I looked into buying land in metaverse (I think it was the sandlot) and it was a lot more than I was willing to pay, but draftkings for example, they have NFTs they drop.
Draftkings Marketplace

Do you think there is long term value in these?

I cant speak on sports nfts because I havent been involved in those but the big nft people on discord/twitter dont come off as caring much about sports in general. Not even speaking about sports nfts.

Im also not spending usd on nfts.
